Read New Scientist article on Herschel and Planck

Professors Matt Griffin (Cardiff University) and Michael Rowan-Robinson (Imperial College London) write about the Herschel Space Observatory, stating that "a new space telescope bigger than Hubble will reveal the young universe as never before".  Herschel is compared to previous space missions in this image (credit New Scientist). They conclude with the statement, "this is an entirely new wavelength band that we are exploring...Expectation is high that they [Herschel and Planck] will shed some exciting light on the universe's dark places."
